Penang Village Char Kuey Teow

The Char Kuey Teow at Penang Village in the Hartamas Shopping Centre was not too bad though you can see there’s a clear violation from the picture. Eggs are supposed to be fried with the Kuey Teow and not as strips of omelette sprinkled on top. That’s Mee Siam not Char Kuey Teow. There was also another violation in the use of cili padi and not cili paste. The cili paste is what gives the Char Kuey Teow the additional fiery colour.

What was good was that the kuey teow was smooth and the prawns (only 2 pieces) was not overcooked. I didn’t care for the sotong that they added because it was overcooked making it’s texture rubbery.

While it tasted decent, it’s not a Char Kuey Teow I would come back for. At RM11.90, there’s far better value to be gotten elsewhere.
